Some people are just sad.

The more I encounter people in all manner of dealings continues to prove that some people are just plain sad, boring, tiresome people.

A quote I once read (I think Facebook) said "Home is where you go when you are tired of being polite to people". I always loved this one because most days are filled with dealings with idiots who have no common sense or I swear wake up thinking of ways to ruin my day.

Is society getting dumber?

I think so, or perhaps these idiots are just more public now, given access to Twitter and FaceBook. Or worse, is it my patience that is wearing thin and I've become less tolerant?

Then there's the whole bad manners generation and I'm not necessarily talking about the youths, I mean people my age. When did we give up on manners? It's a sad indictment when someone comments on how polite you are when saying a simple please and thank you. Shouldn't the people who don't use common courtesy stand out?

Am I turning in to an old person? Next I'll be writing to the ABC and having dinner at 5pm.

On another note, all the stress from last week has resulted in a few more grey hairs, literally! The only thing to get me through is the knowledge of two weeks off in 11 sleeps.

We are all in our own bubbles, we all have different priorities and value different things. I'm regularly reminded of #firstworldproblems and at the time they are a problem and sometimes significant but in the grand scheme of things are nothing compared to what others are experiencing. That being said I shouldn't be made to feel bad. I'm starting to get charity fatigue from 'do gooders' who expect a hand out left right and centre. I give time and money to causes I feel are important to me, I don't do this in a public outspoken way, so some people need to understand that charity comes in many forms.

Anyway I'm on my second glass of wine now, the cool change has come and its somewhat more peaceful.

Think an early night (before midnight is early!) with a book is in order.

First Day Back

Before Christmas I had psyched myself up and decided that I would only take the public holidays as others would be at work and I should save my leave plus I knew it would be pretty cruisy given that some of my favourite work 'family' were also just taking the public holidays. To cover all bases though I worked out with my boss that if I wanted to I could take the extra days off.

Turns out after the good festive cheer I wasn't in a state to go back to work, there was no way I could face that so I put a leave request in, got to New Years and funny enough, I woke up and was weighed down in my bed, struggling to get out of it, so you guessed it, I took the rest of the week off.

And now to the main part, my first day back. What a clusterfuck that was I walked in to. I had somewhat of an idea thanks to my bad habit of checking the BlackBerry. I think some people only ever have meetings to plan and discuss other meetings but if you don't turn up look out! Social Media isn't the sort of place to vent about work but lets just say, there are some idiots out there and they must enjoy making me work hard!

There was an upside, it was a busy, productive first day back so lets hope that sets the tone for the rest of the year. Well less busy but I like the sound of the productive bit.

Highlight of the day was my daily 9:30 and 2:30 coffee breaks with the 'family', so much goss and bitching to catchup on over the break, one coffee isn't enough haha. The coffee break went on a little too long (they always seem to haha) but just too much to cover! Plus none of us smoke so I see it as only fair.

Left late but no traffic so was home in no time.

All thats left now is to cross my fingers I have a better sleep. 4 hours is not enough, I need serious beauty sleep haha. Oh and I think a glass of something wet is in order, too hot for a red, not in the mood for white.... G&T it is.

A New Year - The blog begins!

So there's been one thing on my bucket list for a while now, to start a blog. So with the start of a new year I should really start. So here it is. My blog.

Don't know how often I will have something worth posting but hope you enjoy sharing my journey.
